How Restwell Came to Be

Restwell opened in Bangkok in 2019 after its founders noticed a recurring gap: people approaching retirement age were uncertain about even the most basic aspects of the process — which funds existed, which documents they needed, where to go for authoritative answers. The information was publicly available, but scattered, technical, and difficult to approach alone.

The response was straightforward: create a calm, structured space where those questions could be addressed without pressure. Restwell is not a financial or legal firm. It is an educational information service — one that helps people understand what is out there, rather than telling them what to do with it.

Over the following years, demand grew from individuals to include community organisations. In 2022, Restwell launched its Community Centre Education Programme to equip local centres with the materials and guidance needed to deliver retirement-readiness sessions independently.

How We Maintain Quality

Our commitment to accuracy, clarity, and participant trust shapes everything we produce.

Regular Content Review

All session materials and toolkits are reviewed every six months against current official Thai government publications to ensure accuracy.

Strict Information Boundaries

Restwell does not provide personal financial, legal, or tax advice. Our boundaries are communicated clearly to every participant before any session begins.

Data Privacy Commitment

Personal information collected during enquiries and sessions is held securely and used solely for service delivery. We do not share data with third parties for marketing.

Participant Feedback Loop

Every session includes a short feedback form. Responses are reviewed monthly and used directly to improve content, pacing, and delivery style.

Source Transparency

Every claim made in a Restwell session or document cites its source. Participants receive a reference list so they can verify information independently.

Inclusive Design

Materials use plain language, large text, and clear visual layouts to ensure accessibility for participants across a wide range of reading levels and backgrounds.

Retirement Information in Bangkok: What Restwell Focuses On

Thailand's retirement landscape covers several distinct areas — the Government Pension Fund (GPF) for civil servants, the National Savings Fund (NSF) for informal workers, employer-linked provident funds, and the Social Security Fund (SSF). Each has its own eligibility conditions, contribution structures, and claim procedures. For many people, simply knowing which of these applies to their situation is the first — and most useful — step.

Restwell sessions start at that foundational level. We explain what each fund is, how it works in general terms, and where participants can find authoritative details from the relevant government body. We do not interpret individual circumstances or suggest which course of action to take — that is the role of qualified advisers — but we do help people feel prepared before they seek that conversation.

The Personal Paperwork Toolkit addresses a practical, often overlooked challenge: keeping the right documents in order. Applications for retirement benefits typically require a specific set of papers — ID documents, employment records, bank details, and more. Having these organised before they are needed reduces delays and stress considerably.

For community organisations and centres serving older residents in Bangkok and the wider metropolitan area, our B2B programme provides a self-contained resource that does not require prior expertise. Facilitators receive step-by-step guidance, participant-facing handouts, and a suggested session plan that can be adapted to local needs.
